Better off without you: Apple’s slow-motion divorce from Google

Posted in Uncategorized by T.Salami on June 14, 2012

This is a pretty good article that provides good insight into Apple’s corporate strategy regarding its rumoured deep antagonism with Google.

It details quite well how Apple has slowly and deliberately excluded Google from its ecosystem.

Siri for instance, is said to be a potentially strong weapon of Apple against Google simply because it attacks at Google’s core product and by extension revenue: searches, queries and advertising dollars. This I found the most interesting.

Furthermore Facebook seems to be taking sides with Apple despite starkly differing approaches by both companies to their users’ data: Apple protects users’ from outsiders while Facebook allows outsiders to access users’ data.

The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know. Not to say that Google is an angel rather I believe the rift between both giants is only going to deepen.

Steve Jobs must have been pretty pissed.
